Rotorua Powertool Centre had meager beginnings, trading in 2001 as “Surplus Tools & Machinery” and has grown from a second hand industrial tools and machinery store to what is now regarded as Rotorua’s best selection of quality branded hand tools, powertools, welders & machinery including one of only 10 “Makita Shops” in the country. Aside from the major brands of quality powertools, also represented in store is MACMA & Carba Tec woodworking equipment, Multi Mig & Ezi Tools welding, Powerbuilt, SP, Ampro, Koken, Irwin, Stanley and Toledo hand tools plus a growing selection of safety clothing and equipment. .
Complementing our broad range of Welding equipment and consumables, we are agents for SupaGas (2009) Ltd, providing lease arrangements or Owner bottle fills for industrial gas consumers. We also have Owner bottles for sale.
Remaining true to the original concept of “Surplus Tools & Machinery” secondhand goods is still a part of our business, including a “Sale on Behalf” service.
The Team
Jim Hay is the owner/manager and has an extensive background in the welding/engineering trade where he still skives off to from time to time.
Lesley Adams is our Store Manager, taking care of business and keeping the boys in line.
Ian Bolton is the latest addition to the team and is our Sales Representative. He is committed to providing awesome customer care and works hard to keep up with the ever changing needs of our loyal customers.
Jim Bennett, (more commonly known as JB) our Counter Sales is somewhat of a local icon in Rotorua having spent over 38yrs between Lee Bros, Benchmark, Heaton’s and now it’s our turn.
Operating extended hours Monday to Friday, we offer the complete after sales service package, for anything from powertools to compressors to welders; so you can be assured of awesome service from beginning to end and beyond.
